The CARLON UA9ADRCTN is a Schedule 40 PVC 90-degree elbow fitting designed for use in electrical conduit systems. Made from polyvinyl chloride, this elbow provides a rigid, corrosion-resistant 90-degree change of direction in conduit runs. The fitting is UL listed, confirming it meets Underwriters Laboratories standards for electrical conduit fittings. It is sized for 1/2 inch conduit, one of the most common sizes in residential and light commercial electrical work. Electricians use this fitting during rough-in and finish wiring stages wherever a perpendicular direction change is required in a conduit run. Couplings are not included.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where Schedule 40 PVC conduit is specified. It is commonly used in exposed or embedded conduit runs, including underground applications where PVC is the preferred material for its moisture and chemical resistance. Typical install scenarios include service entrance conduit, panel feeds, and branch circuit runs requiring a clean 90-degree turn. It is compatible with standard 1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit and fittings from major manufacturers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Before working on any conduit system, de-energize all circuits in the affected raceway. Use appropriate PVC conduit cement and primer when solvent-welding this elbow to conduit sections. Do not apply heat to bend or modify a rigid Schedule 40 elbow, as this can compromise the fitting integrity and void UL listing.
