The CANTEX 5233763 is a Schedule 40 PVC 45-degree elbow fitting designed for use in UL-listed electrical conduit systems. This fitting provides a smooth 45-degree directional change in a conduit run, reducing stress on wire and cable during pull-through. Built from Schedule 40 PVC, it resists corrosion, moisture, and most chemicals, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor electrical installations. Electricians install this fitting as part of a complete PVC conduit system wherever a mid-angle bend is needed without the radius of a full 90-degree sweep.
This elbow is rated for electrical conduit applications in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. It is sized for 1/2 inch conduit trade size, which is one of the most common sizes used for branch circuit wiring runs. Typical installation scenarios include exposed surface wiring on masonry or concrete walls, underground conduit runs, and in-slab applications where PVC conduit is code-permitted. The 45-degree angle is commonly used to navigate obstacles or transition conduit runs at an angle without using a full 90-degree elbow.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit systems in UL-listed installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before beginning work. Solvent-weld the fitting to Schedule 40 PVC conduit using a compatible PVC conduit cement and primer per the cement manufacturer's instructions. Allow full cure time before pulling wire through the completed conduit run.
