The CAMPBELL cv-5tss is a 1-1/4 inch stainless steel check valve engineered for inline installation in pressurized piping systems where reverse flow prevention is required. Rated to 200 psi and 158 degrees F, it handles demanding water service conditions in commercial, industrial, and high-demand residential plumbing. The body is constructed from stainless steel with FKM softgoods, delivering strong resistance to corrosion, pitting, scaling, and chemical degradation. Threaded connections on both ends allow straightforward integration into existing pipe runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of inline check valve.
This check valve is suited for water service applications where backflow prevention is critical to system integrity. Its stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for corrosive or high-cycle environments where brass or cast-iron valves may underperform. Typical installations include booster pump discharge lines, water treatment systems, and commercial plumbing distribution headers. The 1-1/4 inch nominal size fits mid-range pipe runs common in light commercial and larger residential systems. Inline orientation and threaded ends keep installation straightforward for standard pipe configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation check valve for 1-1/4 inch threaded inline piping systems handling water media.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing valve or fitting. Verify flow-direction arrow on the valve body is aligned with intended flow before making up threaded connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all threaded joints and confirm there are no leaks before returning the system to service.
