The CAMPBELL 6423100 is a GX Series structural short leg plate clamp designed for lifting and positioning steel plates in fabrication, construction, and rigging applications. Rated at 0.5 ton working load limit, this clamp features load-activated locking that engages automatically as load is applied, reducing the risk of unintended release during a lift. The jaw opens from 1/16 inch to 5/8 inch, accommodating a range of plate thicknesses. Constructed from forged steel, the 6423100 delivers the structural integrity and wear resistance required for repetitive industrial lifting tasks. Licensed riggers and ironworkers are the typical end users.
The CAMPBELL 6423100 is suited for vertical lifting of structural steel plates in steel erection, manufacturing, and heavy rigging work. The short leg bail configuration is appropriate where headroom is limited or a compact attachment profile is needed. The bail opening measures 2-5/8 inches in height and 2 inches in width, allowing connection to standard shackles and rigging hardware. The 4-inch overall width accommodates common structural plate dimensions encountered in field and shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use component within the Campbell GX Series plate clamp line, suitable for structural steel plates with a thickness between 1/16 inch and 5/8 inch.
Plate clamps of this type are installed and operated by qualified riggers following applicable ASME B30.20 below-the-hook lifting device standards. Before attaching the clamp, inspect the jaw, locking mechanism, and bail for wear, cracks, or deformation. Never exceed the rated working load limit, and ensure the clamp jaw is fully seated and locked on the plate before initiating any lift. Do not use this clamp for horizontal or angled lifts unless explicitly rated for that application.
