The CAMPBELL 40pl4 is a 1-inch PVC Schedule 40 slip plug fitting used to cap off unused openings in drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. Built from Schedule 40 PVC, it accepts solvent-weld installation and provides a secure, permanent closure at system termination points or test locations. This fitting is suited for non-pressurized DWV applications and meets standard plumbing code requirements for pipe plug fittings. Plumbers and pipefitters install this plug during rough-in, system testing, or whenever an open branch line needs to be sealed.
This plug is intended for use in residential and light commercial DWV systems where a 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC slip connection is present. Common applications include capping test tees, sealing unused branch connections, and closing open pipe ends during rough-in inspections. The solvent-weld slip socket design integrates directly into standard Schedule 40 PVC piping runs without the need for threaded adapters or additional fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting compatible with 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local codes. Before fitting installation, shut off water supply and depressurize the affected line. Apply PVC primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer instructions and allow adequate cure time before restoring flow or conducting pressure tests. Do not use this plug in pressurized water supply applications.
