The Camden Door Controls CX-ED1379 is an electric strike assembly that provides electrically controlled door latch release in access control applications. The assembly includes one CX-ES series electric strike component, making it a complete unit for new installations or direct replacement service. Electric strikes are installed in the door frame in place of a standard strike plate, allowing the door latch to be released remotely by a control signal while the door remains physically closed. Licensed locksmiths, low-voltage technicians, and access control installers are the primary trades that work with this type of hardware.
The CX-ED1379 is suited for commercial and light industrial access control installations where electric latch retraction or fail-secure door control is required. Typical applications include office entry doors, server room access points, and interior security doors. The included CX-ES strike component integrates with standard access control panels and credential readers such as card readers, keypads, and intercoms. Installations are generally surface-mounted or mortised into the door frame jamb to accept a standard latch bolt.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation electric strike for commercial access control door assemblies accepting a CX-ES series strike component.
Installation should be performed by a licensed locksmith or qualified low-voltage access control technician in accordance with local building and electrical codes. Disconnect power to the access control panel and any connected door hardware before beginning installation or wiring work. The strike should be mortised or surface-mounted into the door frame jamb to align precisely with the door latch bolt to ensure proper latch engagement and release. Consult the manufacturer data sheet for wiring terminal assignments and voltage requirements before connecting control leads.
