The Camden Door Controls CM-1210 is a single-pole single-throw (SPST) maintained key switch designed for access control and door activation applications. A maintained key switch holds its switched position after the key is turned and released, making it suitable for systems that require a latched on or off state rather than momentary activation. Licensed electricians and access control technicians typically specify this type of switch for door release circuits, gate operators, and security panel integration. The CM-1210 is a single-unit component supplied as an individual piece.
This key switch is used in light commercial and residential access control installations where a keyed operator override or enable/disable function is required. Typical applications include electric door strikes, electromagnetic locks, gate control panels, and security system bypass circuits. It is well suited for entry vestibules, mechanical rooms, and controlled-access corridors where only authorized personnel with a physical key should actuate the circuit. The maintained action means the switch stays in its last position until deliberately returned, giving operators clear visual and mechanical confirmation of circuit state.
Designed as an OEM-style key switch component for use in access control panels, door activation systems, and gate operator control circuits requiring SPST maintained switching.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified access control technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and confirm the system is fully powered down before wiring or mounting the switch. Follow the access control panel manufacturer's wiring diagrams for proper low-voltage circuit integration. Do not exceed the switch's rated electrical load for the intended circuit.
