The CAMCO MFG 42183 is an adjustable cross bar push bar designed for RV screen doors. It installs across the interior face of the screen door to give occupants a solid surface to push against when exiting, redirecting force away from the screen mesh and onto the door frame. The bar features black handles and adjusts to fit door widths from 20.25 inches to 28 inches. All necessary hardware is included. HVAC, plumbing, and general service technicians working on RVs as well as RV owners regularly install this type of hardware as a preventive repair item.
This cross bar is suited for use on standard RV screen doors found on travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, and similar recreational vehicles. It is particularly useful on entry doors that see frequent use, where repeated palm-pressure against the screen mesh leads to tears and frame damage. The adjustable width range of 20.25 inches to 28 inches covers the most common RV screen door widths. Installation does not require special tools and can be completed with basic hand tools using the included hardware.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade push bar for RV screen doors with an interior width between 20.25 inches and 28 inches.
Installation is performed with standard hand tools using the hardware provided. Before installation, ensure the screen door is fully closed and stable. Position the bar horizontally across the door at a comfortable push height and mark fastener locations before drilling or driving screws. Verify that fasteners do not penetrate through to the exterior face of the door frame in a way that could compromise the door seal or screen track.
