The CAMCO MFG 36543 is an RV pump converter winterizing kit designed to simplify the process of winterizing a recreational vehicle water system. The kit allows a service technician or knowledgeable RV owner to bypass the onboard fresh water tank and draw antifreeze directly through the water pump. Included components cover the full conversion: pump adapters, a brass valve, a cap, a syphon hose, a fitting, and Teflon tape. The brass valve provides reliable shutoff control during the procedure. At 4 pounds, the complete kit is compact enough to store in a standard RV service compartment.
This kit is used during seasonal RV winterization to protect the onboard plumbing system from freeze damage. It is appropriate for residential-style RV water pump setups found in travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes. The conversion method redirects pump suction to an external antifreeze source, allowing the entire water distribution system to be charged with antifreeze without draining and refilling the fresh water tank. The included Teflon tape and fittings support a complete, leak-free installation in a single service call.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and service kit for standard RV onboard water pump winterization applications on recreational vehicles equipped with a conventional 12-volt demand water pump.
Installation is typically performed by an RV service technician or experienced owner familiar with RV plumbing systems. Before beginning, turn off the water pump and relieve any pressure in the water lines. Connect the pump adapters per the kit configuration to redirect pump intake from the fresh water tank to the syphon hose, then charge the system with RV-rated antifreeze. Follow all applicable guidelines for potable water system service when returning the system to drinking water use in the spring.
