The CAMCO MFG 2343 is a high watt density screw-in heating element designed for residential electric water heaters. Rated at 4500 watts and 240 volts, it delivers more than 150 watts per square inch of surface area, making it a direct-fit replacement for worn or failed elements in standard tank-style water heaters. At 14.5 inches in length, the element requires a minimum tank diameter of 15 inches. A gasket is included for a leak-free seal at installation. Detailed instructions are packed with each unit. Licensed plumbers and water heater technicians are the typical installers for this component.
This element is suited for residential electric water heater service across a wide range of tank brands and configurations. It installs into standard screw-in element ports found on most conventional storage-tank water heaters. The included gasket eliminates the need to source a separate seal before the job. Compatible units span a broad cross-section of common residential brands, making this element a practical stocking item for plumbing service trucks and supply houses alike.
Fits most models of American, A.O. Smith, Bradford White, Craftmaster, General Electric, GS Wood, Kenmore, Lochinvar, Maytag, Mor-Flo, Reliance, Rheem, Richmond, Ruud, Sears, State, and Whirlpool electric water heaters.
Installation of this element should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water heater technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and the tank manufacturer's service documentation. Always shut off electrical power at the breaker and close the cold-water supply valve before removing the old element. Drain sufficient water from the tank to expose the element port before removal. Use an element wrench for proper torque — never use pipe wrenches on the element body.
