The C2G CG52030 is a DB9 serial extension cable wired with all lines connected, extending a male DB9 connector to a female DB9 port over a length of 6 feet. It is designed for use in applications that require a full-signal serial connection between RS-232 devices and a host system or controller. Electricians, AV integrators, and automation technicians install this cable when an existing serial run falls short or when a device needs to be repositioned without reconfiguring the host port. All lines are passed through, preserving hardware handshaking signals such as RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, and DCD.
This cable is suited for connecting serial peripherals such as industrial controllers, legacy test equipment, KVM switches, POS systems, and building automation devices to RS-232 serial ports. It is commonly used in both commercial and light industrial environments wherever a DB9 male device port needs to be extended to a DB9 female host interface.
