The C.H. HANSON 40080 is a split ring designed for fastening, keying, and retention applications in mechanical and industrial assemblies. Each ring measures 0.625 inches (5/8 inches) inside diameter, 0.813 inches outside diameter, and 0.063 inches (2mm) thick. Manufactured from carbon spring steel with a nickel plated finish, these rings deliver the spring tension required to grip shafts, pins, and rods securely. The nickel plating provides corrosion resistance for use in mildly humid or exposed environments. This listing includes a pack of 100 rings, making it practical for service shops and contractors who install or replace fasteners in volume.
Split rings of this size are commonly used in HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical enclosures, pool equipment, and general mechanical assemblies where a low-profile retention ring is needed. The 5/8 inch ID fits standard shafts and pins of that diameter. Installers working on motor assemblies, linkage rods, valve stems, or control components will find this size applicable to a wide range of residential and light commercial service work. The pack quantity of 100 supports both single-job use and shop stock replenishment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service stock split ring for mechanical assemblies requiring a 5/8 inch ID retention ring in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool equipment applications.
Split rings are typically installed by mechanical technicians and general trade professionals using split ring pliers or needle-nose pliers. Power down or depressurize the equipment being serviced before removing or installing retention rings on any shaft or valve assembly. Inspect the groove or shaft for wear or corrosion before installing a new ring. Do not over-spread the ring during installation, as this can permanently deform the spring steel and reduce retention performance.
