The BURNDY YAV25L-TC14-FX is an electro-tin plated copper compression cable lug designed for making reliable, inspectable electrical connections on flexible and stranded copper conductors. Rated from 600 volts to 35 kV and approved for use up to 90 degrees F continuous temperature, this lug accepts 1/0 AWG stranded, 1/0 AWG Class G/H/I weld flex, and 275/24 diesel locomotive cable. The short straight barrel measures 0.69 inches in length, and overall lug length is 1.75 inches. A single 1/4-inch stud hole is centered on the 0.83-inch-wide pad. A pink color code and die index 12 marking help technicians verify the correct die and connector are used together before compression.
This lug is suited for industrial, utility, and heavy-equipment wiring applications where flexible or diesel locomotive cable terminations are required. The beveled, chamfered cable entry eases conductor insertion in the field. An inspection window allows visual confirmation that the conductor is fully seated before the compression cycle begins. Typical installation environments include switchgear, motor control centers, locomotive wiring, welding cable assemblies, and other high-flex conductor applications where a low-resistance, vibration-resistant termination is needed. Licensed electricians perform this work under NEC guidelines.
Accepts 1/0 AWG stranded copper, 1/0 AWG Class G/H/I weld flex cable, and 275/24 diesel locomotive cable. Fits 1/4-inch mounting studs. Compatible with BURNDY die index 12 compression tooling. Brand family designation is HYLUG, Type YAV-L-FX.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit completely before terminating any conductors. Strip the conductor to the wire strip length of 11/16 inch and insert fully until visible through the inspection window before applying the compression tool. Use only the specified die index 12 tooling to achieve a correct crimp; do not use substitute dies or over-compress the barrel.
