The BURNDY YA272LN is a copper compression lug designed for terminating 3/0 AWG copper conductors at two-hole equipment pads, bus bars, and terminal blocks. This style of compression lug is cold-worked onto the conductor using a compatible compression tool, creating a gas-tight mechanical and electrical connection. The two-hole mounting configuration distributes clamping force across the connection point, reducing contact resistance and improving long-term reliability. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this lug in power distribution, switchgear, and service entrance applications where a permanent, low-resistance termination is required.
This lug is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where 3/0 AWG copper feeders terminate at panelboards, switchboards, motor control centers, or large electrical equipment. The two-hole tongue allows bolted connections to standard NEMA two-hole pad spacing. It is appropriate for use in both new construction and retrofit service work where code-compliant copper conductor terminations are required.
Designed as an OEM-style compression termination lug for 3/0 AWG copper conductors used in commercial and industrial power distribution applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use only the manufacturer-specified compression die and tool to ensure a proper crimp; under-crimping or over-crimping can compromise the connection. Torque mounting hardware to the equipment terminal pad per the equipment manufacturer's specifications.
