Product Description
Burndy KSA500 is a tin-plated aluminum alloy split bolt connector designed for run/tap mechanical joining of aluminum and copper conductors. The KSA500 provides a gas-tight seal that inhibits oxide reformation and offers low contact resistance; it is UL 486A/486B listed with a 90�C (194�F) temperature rating and a recommended installation torque of 825 in-lb. Typical applications include splicing or tapping large aluminum or copper conductors.
- Tin-plated aluminum alloy body that facilitates piercing aluminum oxide and creates a gas-tight seal
- Compatible with run conductors 400 kcmil�500 kcmil and tap conductors 2 AWG�500 kcmil (copper solid taps up to 4/0 AWG)
- Meets UL 486A/486B (and CSA where specified); temperature rating 90�C (194�F); installation torque 825 in-lb
