The BULLARD 37728 is a zirconia alumina flap disc designed for aggressive metal grinding and finishing. Built to a Type 29 standard profile, this disc combines a layered flap construction with a zirconium abrasive grain that resists heat buildup and maintains cut rate through the life of the disc. The 7-inch diameter disc mounts via a 5/8-11 threaded arbor, making it compatible with standard large-angle grinders. At 80 grit, it removes material efficiently while leaving a finish suitable for follow-on work. Maximum operating speed is 8500 RPM. Licensed tradespeople in fabrication, welding, and structural metalwork are the primary installers and operators.
The 37728 is suited for general-purpose metal grinding and surface conditioning on ferrous metals including mild steel, structural steel, and weld seams. It is a practical choice in MRO, fabrication shops, and field metalwork where a durable, heat-resistant abrasive disc is needed for stock removal and blending. The disc is sold in a box of 10, making it well suited for shop restocking. The Type 29 angled profile increases surface contact on flat and contoured workpieces, improving material removal rates compared to a flat Type 27 profile.
Designed for use with large-angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. Intended for metal grinding and finishing applications on ferrous materials.
This disc is installed and operated by metalworkers, fabricators, and welders using angle grinders. Before mounting, confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed 8500 RPM and that the spindle thread is 5/8-11. Always inspect the disc for damage before use and ensure the guard is in place. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, hearing protection, and gloves during operation.
