The BULLARD 20938 is a Type 27 depressed-center turbo wheel designed for combination cutting and light grinding in a single application. At 9 inches in diameter with a 1/8 inch thickness and a 5/8-11 threaded arbor, it mounts directly to standard angle grinders and pipeline grinders. The wheel is rated to 6500 RPM and uses a GRT 30 grain specification, making it suitable for aggressive material removal while maintaining enough control for finish-pass light grinding. Fabricators, pipefitters, and ironworkers use this wheel to eliminate mid-job wheel changes when working on pipe joints and structural steel cuts.
The 20938 is built for pipeline and structural fabrication work where both cutting and grinding tasks occur in the same joint or bevel pass. Its turbo-segment geometry reduces loading and heat buildup during extended use. Typical applications include pipe bevel prep, tack weld removal, and light surface conditioning on carbon steel pipe and structural sections. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it a practical stocking item for field crews and shop inventory alike.
Designed for use on angle grinders and pipeline grinders with a 5/8-11 spindle thread and a maximum free-speed rating at or above 6500 RPM. Suitable for carbon steel cutting and light grinding applications in pipeline, structural, and fabrication environments.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 and applicable OSHA abrasive wheel safety standards. Confirm the grinder free-speed rating meets or exceeds the 6500 RPM wheel rating before mounting. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before use and perform a ring test where applicable. Never exceed the rated RPM, and ensure the guard is properly installed before operation.
