The BUCHANAN WT2-1 is a positive grip wire connector designed for fast, secure splicing of copper conductors in electrical wiring applications. Rated at 300 volts and suitable for wire sizes ranging from 22 to 14 AWG, this blue twist-on connector uses a fixed, square wire spring to create a firm mechanical connection without slippage. The deep skirt design guards against flash-over, and the shell is molded from a UL 94V-2 flame-retardant material. Licensed electricians and fixture installers commonly use these connectors in branch circuit, fixture, and sign wiring work.
The WT2-1 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where copper conductor splices are required. It handles a minimum wire combination of three 20 AWG conductors and a maximum wire combination of three 16 AWG conductors, making it practical for fixture wiring, junction box connections, and low-voltage branch circuits. The connector also carries a 1000-volt rating for fixture and sign applications. Each standard package contains 100 connectors per box.
Designed for use with copper conductors from 22 to 14 AWG, accommodating wire combinations from three 20 AWG up to three 16 AWG conductors. Suitable for standard twist-on connector applications in fixture wiring, junction boxes, and branch circuit splices.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage with a meter before making or breaking any connections. Strip conductors to the appropriate length, align them evenly, and twist the connector clockwise until snug with no bare copper exposed beyond the skirt. Do not use with aluminum conductors, as this connector is rated for copper wire only.
