The BUCHANAN BCS1-JR is a non-insulated, 2-nail type cable staple designed for securing electrical cable to wood framing and structural members. Manufactured from high-grade carbon steel with a rust- and corrosion-resistant finish, this staple measures 1/2 inch in width and 1 inch in leg length. Sharp-point legs drive straight without splitting wood, making installation faster and cleaner compared to standard staples. Each jar contains 500 staples, giving electricians a ready-to-use supply for residential and light commercial rough-in work. Country of origin is the USA.
The BCS1-JR is intended for use on ROMEX wire, NM (non-metallic sheathed) cable, and UF (underground feeder) cable. It is well suited for residential new construction and retrofit wiring projects where cable must be fastened to wood studs, joists, or plates. The non-insulated design is appropriate for standard cable runs where the staple is not required to provide electrical isolation. Electricians typically drive these by hand or with a hammer during rough-in, keeping cable properly supported between boxes and panels per NEC spacing requirements.
Designed for use with ROMEX wire, NM (non-metallic sheathed) cable, and UF (underground feeder) cable on wood framing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians during rough-in wiring. Power down the circuit or confirm the branch circuit is de-energized before stapling cable near existing wiring. Drive staples with a hammer, ensuring the staple seats snugly against the cable without crushing or deforming the sheath. Follow NEC requirements for cable support spacing and clearance from edges of framing members.
