The BSC PREFERRED VHB595201R is a double-sided VHB foam tape engineered for high-strength bonding in applications where traditional mechanical fasteners are impractical or undesirable. Built on a conformable black foam core with acrylic adhesive on both sides and a red polyethylene liner, this tape delivers structural-level holding power across a wide range of substrates. It performs across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F and carries a UL746C certification. Trades and industrial technicians use it as a direct substitute for rivets, bolts, screws, spot-welds, and liquid adhesives in permanent fastening scenarios.
This tape is suited for use in residential and commercial construction, HVAC panel assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, signage mounting, and general industrial fabrication. It bonds reliably to metal, glass, and a wide variety of plastics and paint systems, including relatively irregular or mixed substrates. The conformable foam core allows the tape to follow surface contours, maintaining consistent adhesive contact across uneven or curved surfaces. Its resistance to moisture, solvents, and UV exposure makes it appropriate for both interior and exterior installations.
Designed for bonding to metal, glass, and a wide variety of plastics and paint systems, including irregular and mixed substrates typical of HVAC, electrical, and general construction assemblies.
Surface preparation is critical for maximum adhesion - clean bonding surfaces thoroughly to remove dust, oil, and moisture before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape surface to ensure full contact between adhesive and substrate. No power disconnection is required for tape-only installations, but follow applicable NEC or local code requirements when working near energized electrical enclosures. Avoid installation in ambient temperatures outside the rated service range, as adhesive performance may be compromised during cure.
