The BSC PREFERRED T960291 is a polyimide film tape with a silicone adhesive backing, engineered for applications that demand high temperature resistance and long-term reliability. Rated to a maximum of 500 degrees F, this tape delivers a unique combination of electrical insulation, thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical durability. The silicone adhesive bonds securely under heat and vibration yet releases cleanly without leaving residue behind. High dielectric strength makes it suitable for electrical insulation work, while excellent abrasion resistance holds up in harsh processing and manufacturing environments.
This tape is used across a wide range of industrial and electronics applications. Common uses include insulating and masking circuit boards during wave soldering and etching processes, protecting automotive sensors and manifolds, masking components during high temperature powder coating, supporting semiconductor manufacturing, and protecting fiber optics cable assemblies. Electricians, electronics technicians, and manufacturing process technicians regularly specify this tape for demanding thermal and electrical insulation tasks. It is sold in a case quantity of 36 rolls.
This product is equivalent to part number S-14532. Designed for use in high temperature masking, insulating, and protection applications across automotive, electronics manufacturing, and industrial processing environments.
Apply tape to clean, dry surfaces for best adhesion. When using for masking during powder coating or soldering, ensure the tape fully covers all areas to be protected and press edges firmly to prevent bleed-through. Remove tape promptly after the process cycle completes to ease removal and minimize any potential for substrate marking. Handle with standard tape application tools; no special certifications are required for general taping applications, though electrical insulation work should follow applicable NEC guidelines.
