The BSC PREFERRED STC178 is a pack of 100 heat-sealable, multi-layer static shielding bags designed to protect ESD-sensitive electronic components during storage and transport. The transparent construction allows visual identification of contents without opening the bag, while the multi-layer film construction guards against electrostatic charges that can damage sensitive devices. Each bag is printed with the standard ESD warning symbol to indicate contents require electrostatic discharge precautions. These bags are sold as a case of 100 units and are intended for commercial use only.
The STC178 bags are used in electronics manufacturing, repair facilities, field service operations, and distribution environments where ESD-sensitive parts such as circuit boards, capacitors, microcontrollers, and other electronic components must be packaged safely. They are appropriate for any trade or service environment where proper ESD handling procedures are required, including HVAC controls, industrial electronics, and commercial electrical work.
Designed as a commercial-grade ESD static shielding bag suitable for packaging and protecting electrostatic-sensitive electronic devices and components. Equivalent to part number S-3432.
Handle ESD-sensitive components only at a properly grounded ESD workstation. Before placing components in the bag, ensure the work surface, personnel, and tools are grounded to prevent charge transfer. Heat seal the bag using an appropriate impulse or band sealer set to the correct temperature for the bag material. Do not use standard plastic bags or non-ESD packaging as a substitute for shielded bags when handling ESD-sensitive parts.
