The BSC PREFERRED SS58023 is a heavy-duty steel strapping coil designed to secure and protect heavy freight shipments during transport and storage. Each coil is constructed from painted and waxed steel wound in an oscillated configuration, which promotes smooth, consistent feed through strapping tools and carts. At approximately 100 pounds per coil, this strapping is intended for high-volume industrial packaging operations. It is compatible with standard steel strapping carts, tensioning tools, and steel seals. This product is also an equivalent replacement for part number S-1082. Trade packaging specialists, warehouse operations teams, and shipping department personnel are the primary installers and users of this strapping.
The SS58023 coil is suited for securing palletized loads, bundling pipe, lumber, structural steel, and other heavy industrial materials. The oscillated winding allows the strapping to lay flat and feed without tangling, making it practical for continuous production environments. Coils are sold individually, and skid quantities run 12 coils per skid, supporting bulk purchasing for high-throughput operations. The painted and waxed finish provides a degree of corrosion resistance and reduces friction during tensioning.
Designed for use with standard steel strapping carts, tensioning tools, and steel seals. Equivalent to part number S-1082. Suitable for industrial and commercial packaging applications requiring heavy-duty steel strapping.
Steel strapping should be installed using appropriate steel strapping tensioners, sealers, and cutters rated for the strapping width and thickness. Always wear cut-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling and cutting steel strapping, as cut ends are sharp. Ensure strapping carts and coil holders are properly loaded before beginning to avoid coil run-off or tangling. Follow applicable OSHA and facility safety guidelines for packaging operations.
