The BSC PREFERRED SHWT50 is a bi-directional, vertical response impact indicator designed to detect and visually flag mishandling of packaged goods during transit or storage. When an impact event occurs, the device permanently turns bright red, providing an unmistakable record of rough handling. Each indicator measures 1 2/3 x 1 2/3 inches and ships with an optional 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inch label for added visibility on the package exterior. Activation requires only removing the adhesive liner, making deployment fast and straightforward. A unique serial number on each unit supports tamper-proof chain-of-custody tracking.
The SHWT50 is used in packaging and shipping operations across warehouse, logistics, and storage environments where fragile or sensitive products require documented handling accountability. Each case contains 50 individual indicators, making it practical for operations with high package volume. The bi-directional, vertical response mechanism means the device responds to impacts from multiple orientations, giving broader coverage for real-world transit conditions. Companion labels SHWCL (sold separately) inform receiving handlers of correct procedures when damaged shipments are received. Alert Tape SHWAT (sold separately) can be applied to the outer package to notify handlers that monitoring is active.
Designed for use with standard packaged goods in transit or storage applications where impact monitoring is required. Compatible companion products include SHWCL handler instruction labels and SHWAT alert tape, both sold separately. This product is equivalent to part number S-23017.
Peel the adhesive liner to activate each indicator and affix directly to the product or inner packaging surface before sealing the shipment. No special tools are required. Ensure the indicator is applied to a clean, dry surface so the adhesive bonds securely. Review companion label SHWCL instructions to ensure receiving staff understand proper response procedures when a triggered indicator is found.
