Product Description

The BSC PREFERRED QJDIB-MB-007 is a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit engineered for impact drilling through concrete, brick, and similar hard masonry materials. The carbide tip extends service life compared to standard steel bits, and the impact-ready construction handles the hammering action of rotary hammer and hammer drill operation without premature wear. A wide flute design moves dust and debris out of the bore quickly, reducing heat buildup and improving hole quality. This bit is a standard trade-supply consumable used by masons, concrete contractors, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians when anchoring or routing through masonry substrates.

This bit is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a 1/4 inch hole is required in concrete block, poured concrete, or brick. Common tasks include setting anchor bolts, drilling conduit penetrations, installing pipe hangers, and mounting equipment to masonry walls. The 6 inch length provides enough depth for most standard anchor and penetration applications without requiring an extension.

Key Features

  • Carbide tip for extended service life in abrasive masonry materials
  • Impact-ready design compatible with rotary hammer and hammer drill operation
  • Wide flute geometry promotes fast dust and debris removal from the bore
  • Wide flute also aids heat dispersion, reducing bit wear during extended drilling
  • 1/4 inch diameter and 6 inch length cover common anchor and penetration tasks

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard consumable masonry drill bit for use with 1/4 inch chuck or SDS-compatible rotary hammers and hammer drills suited to masonry and concrete applications.

Installation Notes

A licensed tradesperson or qualified mechanic should confirm the correct anchor or penetration specifications before drilling into structural masonry. Always wear eye protection and a dust mask when drilling concrete or brick, as silica-containing dust is a respiratory hazard. Confirm no embedded conduit, rebar, or utilities are present in the drilling path before beginning. Operate the drill at the manufacturer-recommended speed setting for masonry to avoid overheating the carbide tip.
