The BSC PREFERRED QJDIB-MB-006 is a 3/16-inch carbide-tipped masonry drill bit designed for drilling through concrete, brick, and similar masonry materials. The carbide tip delivers extended tool life compared to standard steel bits, resisting wear under the high friction and heat generated during masonry work. An impact-ready construction allows the bit to be used with both rotary hammer drills and standard hammer drills. Wide flute geometry moves dust and debris out of the bore quickly, reducing heat buildup and keeping the cutting edge engaged with the material rather than packing waste. Licensed tradespeople and experienced DIYers use this bit for anchor-setting, conduit penetrations, and masonry fastener installations.
This drill bit is suited for light-duty to medium-duty masonry applications in residential and light commercial settings. Typical uses include drilling through poured concrete walls, concrete block, brick veneer, and mortar joints. At 3/16 inch in diameter and 6 inches in length, it is well-matched for setting sleeve anchors, drop-in anchors, or running small-diameter penetrations through masonry substrates. Electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians frequently reach for a bit in this size class when securing conduit straps, pipe hangers, or equipment mounting brackets to concrete or block walls.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use masonry drill bit for use with standard SDS-plus or keyed chuck hammer drills and rotary hammer drills that accept round-shank bits in the 3/16-inch diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson following applicable safety codes. Wear eye protection and a dust mask rated for concrete particulate when drilling masonry. Confirm the drilling path is clear of embedded conduit, rebar, or post-tension cables before beginning. Allow the bit to do the work at moderate speed and consistent pressure — forcing the bit or applying excessive lateral force can cause carbide tip fracture.
