The BSC PREFERRED QJDIB-DB-035 is a 1/8-inch cobalt drill bit built for industrial and trade applications where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. The cobalt construction delivers significantly higher heat resistance and hardness, making it effective in hard, abrasive materials. A 135-degree split point geometry initiates the cut immediately without center-punching, reducing bit walk and improving hole location accuracy. The stronger core cross-section resists flexing and breakage under load, extending service life well beyond standard black oxide tooling. Machinists, maintenance technicians, fabricators, and industrial trades are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is rated for use in stainless steel, titanium, hardened alloys, and other hard or abrasive materials. It also handles wood and PVC, making it a versatile option for multi-material job sites. The 1/8-inch diameter is a common size for pilot holes, rivet holes, and light-gauge fastener clearance drilling in both fabrication shops and field service environments. The bit fits standard 3-jaw drill chucks and is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement multipurpose cobalt drill bit suitable for use in standard 3-jaw keyed or keyless drill chucks accepting 1/8-inch round shanks.
Install the bit fully and securely into the chuck before operating. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel or titanium to manage heat and extend bit life. Apply steady, consistent feed pressure and avoid forcing the bit, which can cause breakage at this diameter. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling.
