The BSC PREFERRED PSR17162 is a single-bowl drop-in kitchen sink constructed from 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel. It measures 17 inches x 16 inches x 7.125 inches overall, with an interior bowl dimension of 14 inches x 10 inches and a 3.5-inch center drain opening. The sink installs via a U-channel mounting system into a countertop cutout of 16.375 inches x 15.375 inches with a 1.5-inch corner radius. Sound-deadening pads are bonded to the underside to reduce vibration and noise during use. Licensed plumbers and remodeling contractors handle typical installation of this fixture in residential and light-commercial applications.
The PSR17162 is suited for residential kitchen remodels and light-commercial kitchens where counter space is limited. Its compact footprint requires a minimum cabinet size of 21 inches. Two pre-drilled holes in the deck support dual-handle or widespread faucet configurations. The drop-in design makes it compatible with laminate, tile, solid-surface, and stone countertops where a self-rimming sink is specified. Produced in the USA, this sink carries the manufacturing heritage of BSC PREFERRED, which has produced stainless steel sinks since 1920.
Designed as a drop-in replacement or new-installation sink for kitchens with a minimum 21-inch base cabinet. Countertop cutout required: 16.375 inches x 15.375 inches with a 1.5-inch corner radius. Accepts standard 3.5-inch basket strainer drain assemblies and 1.5-inch drain tailpieces.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and disconnect existing drain and supply lines before removing any old fixture. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant around the countertop cutout perimeter before setting the sink, then secure the U-channel clips from below to achieve a watertight seal. Do not overtighten mounting clips on laminate countertops to avoid surface cracking.
