The BSC PREFERRED LK9 is a grid strainer and brass tailpiece assembly designed for kitchen, prep, bar, and laundry sink drain applications. The strainer body is constructed from Type 304 stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance and long service life in wet environments. The included tailpiece measures 4 inches in length with a 1.5-inch outer diameter and features a nickel-plated brass finish for a secure, leak-resistant connection to standard drain waste lines. This assembly is installed by plumbers and skilled tradespeople as part of a complete sink drain rough-in or fixture replacement.
The LK9 is suited for residential and light commercial sink installations including kitchen sinks, prep sinks, bar sinks, and laundry sinks. It is engineered to manage waste flow efficiently while the grid strainer design helps prevent debris from entering the drain line. The nickel-plated brass tailpiece connects to standard 1.5-inch drain waste piping, making it compatible with typical P-trap configurations found in residential and commercial plumbing layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style drain fitting for use with BSC PREFERRED sinks and compatible with standard residential and light commercial sink drain openings accepting a 1.5-inch tailpiece connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain line is clear before beginning work. Use plumber's putty or the appropriate sealant around the strainer flange as required by local code. Do not overtighten the locknut, as this may crack the sink deck or distort the strainer body.
