The BSC PREFERRED DRKR25170 is an 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel single bowl drop-in sink designed for classroom and educational facility installations. It measures 25 inches in length, 17 inches in width, and 7.625 inches in depth, with a usable bowl interior of 16 inches by 13.5 inches. The Lustertone Classic finish is scratch-resistant and repairable — light surface marks blend into the polished grain over time, and deeper scratches can be addressed with a compatible restoration kit. Sound-deadening pads bonded to the underside of the bowl reduce vibration and noise during use, an important factor in occupied classroom environments. The center drain opening measures 3.5 inches and is compatible with standard garbage disposals. Installation is accomplished via U-channel mounting with clips placed inside the channel, reducing time required beneath the counter. This sink is made in the USA.
The DRKR25170 is suited for classroom sinks, school art rooms, science labs, and similar educational spaces where durable, easy-to-clean fixtures are required. The drop-in configuration fits a minimum cabinet width of 30 inches and requires a countertop cutout of 24.375 inches by 16.375 inches with rounded corners. The spacious single bowl accommodates handwashing, project cleanup, and general utility tasks common to K-12 and higher-education environments. Licensed plumbers or qualified tradespeople typically handle final installation and drain rough-in connections.
Designed as a drop-in replacement or new-installation sink for countertop cutouts measuring 24.375 inches by 16.375 inches with rounded corners, in cabinets with a minimum width of 30 inches. Compatible with standard 3.5-inch basket strainers and garbage disposal flanges.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and verify drain rough-in location before beginning countertop cutout work. Follow the U-channel clip sequence per the manufacturer installation sheet to achieve proper seal compression around the sink perimeter. Do not overtighten mounting clips, as this can distort the sink deck or damage the countertop substrate.
