The BSC PREFERRED DNT5 is a self-adhesive shock indicator label used to detect and signal possible impact damage to packages during shipping and handling. Each label mounts directly to the outside of a product or its packaging and activates when the package experiences a g-force impact that meets or exceeds the unit's rated threshold. Once triggered, the indicator changes state and cannot be reset, providing a clear, tamper-evident signal that the shipment may have sustained damaging shock. Warning labels are included with each pack to give receivers straightforward instructions on how to interpret a triggered indicator. These devices help shipping departments, receiving teams, and logistics professionals identify rough-handling events before a package is opened or accepted.
The DNT5 indicators are suited for use in shipping, warehousing, and receiving operations across industrial, commercial, and distribution environments. They are applied by shipping personnel to fragile or high-value items such as electronics, HVAC equipment, motors, and other goods susceptible to impact damage. The product is available across 6 different g-force ranges, allowing users to select the sensitivity level appropriate for the fragility of the item being shipped. A higher g-range rating requires a greater impact force to activate the indicator. This equivalent product corresponds to part number S-2852. Each case contains 25 individual indicators.
Equivalent to part number S-2852. Designed for general-purpose use on any packaged product or shipping container where impact monitoring during transit is required.
Clean and dry the mounting surface before applying the self-adhesive indicator to ensure full adhesion. Apply the label to a visible, exterior location on the packaging so receiving personnel can inspect it without opening the shipment. Select the appropriate g-range for the fragility level of the contents before shipment. Do not attempt to reset or reuse a triggered indicator, as the non-resettable design is intentional for accurate damage documentation.
