The BSC PREFERRED DIB51PCLF is a quarter-turn angle shut-off valve with a 1/2 inch female iron pipe (FIP) inlet and a 3/8 inch OD compression outlet. It uses a ball-style mechanism for quick, 90-degree shutoff operation, making it suitable for supply line isolation on fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and lavatory faucets. The chrome finish and corrosion-resistant ball construction are designed for durability in typical residential plumbing environments. Wetted surfaces are manufactured to contain no more than 0.25 percent weighted average lead content, meeting lead-free compliance standards for potable water systems.
This angle stop valve is intended for use in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a reliable, low-profile shutoff is needed at the point of connection between a supply stub-out and a fixture supply line. It is well-suited for under-sink and toilet rough-in applications where a FIP wall connection feeds a 3/8 inch compression supply tube. Licensed plumbers and qualified service technicians typically install this type of fitting during fixture replacement, remodel work, or routine valve changeout.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation angle stop for residential and light commercial plumbing fixtures requiring a 1/2 inch FIP inlet and 3/8 inch OD compression outlet connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before removing any existing valve. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the FIP threads before tightening; do not overtighten the compression fitting nut, as this can damage the ferrule and cause leaks. After installation, restore water supply slowly and inspect all connections for leaks before closing up the work area.
