The BSC PREFERRED 93129711 is a 9-watt LED A19 bug light bulb designed for outdoor use where insect attraction is a concern. The bulb features a yellow coating on an all-glass envelope that filters the light spectrum to remain invisible to most flying insects, reducing bug congregation around fixtures. It draws 9 watts while delivering 800 lumens of output, performing at a level comparable to a 100-watt incandescent. Color temperature is 2700 Kelvin with a Color Rendering Index of 80. Rated life is 15,000 hours. The bulb uses a standard medium base and is non-dimmable.
This bulb is suited for residential and light commercial outdoor applications including porch fixtures, wall lanterns, post lights, and entryway sconces where insect activity around light sources is a persistent issue. Its all-glass construction handles outdoor temperature swings, and the medium base fits the vast majority of standard residential and commercial outdoor fixtures. Service professionals and facilities maintenance staff handling routine lamp replacements will find this a direct drop-in for most outdoor sockets.
Designed as a direct replacement for standard medium-base A19 bug light bulbs in outdoor fixtures. Compatible with non-dimming circuits only.
Installation is handled by any qualified electrician or facilities maintenance technician. Always switch off the circuit and allow the existing bulb to cool before removal. Confirm the fixture circuit does not use a dimmer switch, as this bulb is non-dimmable and connecting it to a dimming circuit can shorten lamp life or cause flickering. Outdoor fixture covers should be resealed after lamp replacement to maintain weatherproofing.
