The BSC PREFERRED 730267 is a 6x2 coarse-thread drywall screw sold in a 1-pound box. Built from hardened steel produced through heat treatment, quenching, and further reheating, the screw delivers strong resistance to wear, corrosion, and abrasion. The sharp point allows fast penetration into drywall and wood substrates without pre-drilling. A No. 2 Phillips recess bugle head seats flush at the surface and is compatible with standard drywall screw guns and bit sets. A phosphate finish reduces surface oxidation and improves bit grip during drive. Intended for interior use only.
These screws are suited for fastening drywall to wood studs, attaching plywood sheathing, and securing composition or softwood panels in residential and light commercial interior applications. The coarse thread provides solid pull-through resistance in wood framing, making them a practical choice for typical drywall and panel installation work on interior wall and ceiling assemblies.
Designed for interior fastening applications including drywall to wood framing, plywood, composition board, and softwood panels. Not rated for exterior or wet-location use.
Installation is typically performed by drywall installers, carpenters, or general contractors using a drywall screw gun or drill driver with a No. 2 Phillips bit. Drive screws until the bugle head sits flush with the drywall face paper without breaking through the surface. Avoid overdriving, which can weaken the fastener hold and damage the drywall facing. Follow applicable local building codes for fastener spacing on drywall and panel assemblies.
