The BSC PREFERRED 18706-24 is an orange, regular-bodied, fast-setting CPVC solvent cement formulated for joining CPVC pipe and fittings in pressure and drain applications. It bonds CPVC components up to 4 inches in diameter using an interference fit, creating a strong, leak-resistant joint. This cement is NSF certified for potable water contact and meets ASTM D-2564, making it a code-compliant choice for licensed plumbers working on residential and light commercial piping systems. The 1/4 pint container weighs approximately 0.3 pounds and is sized for smaller repair jobs or low-volume installations.
This solvent cement is suited for use on CPVC pressure pipe, drain waste and vent (DWV) piping, and sewer systems. It is appropriate for residential potable water supply lines, drain lines, and vent stacks where CPVC is the specified material. The fast-setting formulation reduces wait time between joints, making it practical for multi-joint runs in tight schedules. It is intended for use by licensed plumbers and qualified pipefitters in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed for use with CPVC pipe and fittings up to 4 inches in diameter with interference fit, including potable water, sewer, and DWV applications where CPVC is the specified pipe material.
CPVC solvent cement work is typically performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water system before making any cement joints on active lines. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of debris before applying cement; use the appropriate CPVC primer where required by local code. Allow adequate cure time based on pipe size, temperature, and pressure rating before pressurizing the system.
