The BSC PREFERRED 146729 is a one-part acrylic latex caulk formulated for sealing building and construction joints in both interior and exterior applications. Packaged in a 10.1 fluid ounce cartridge, it delivers a permanent white finish that accepts paint without priming on porous surfaces. The formula is UV resistant and non-yellowing, making it suitable for exposed trim, window frames, and door surrounds where long-term appearance matters. Licensed contractors, carpenters, and general tradespeople use this caulk where moderate joint movement is expected. Joint sizing follows a standard 2:1 width-to-depth ratio for optimal performance.

This caulk is suited for residential and commercial construction joints including baseboards, trim, window frames, and door perimeters. It adheres to all common building surfaces provided they are clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. No primer is required on porous surfaces. On smooth or non-porous surfaces such as PVC or glass, use of a surface activator is recommended to improve adhesion. A preliminary compatibility test is advised on PVD-coated and other non-porous materials before full application.

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Power or gas shutoff is not required for caulk application, but all surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease before applying. Cut the cartridge tip and load into a standard caulk gun sized for 10.1 fluid ounce cartridges. Minimum joint width is 0.25 inches and maximum joint width is approximately 1.19 inches, with joint depth following a 2:1 width-to-depth guideline. Allow adequate cure time before painting or exposing the joint to moisture.
