The BROWNING 730005 is a Type E nonexpansion pillow block bearing unit designed for stationary shaft positioning in industrial drive and conveyor applications. Built around a tapered roller bearing insert made from 52100 bearing steel, it handles combined radial and axial loads common in heavy-duty rotating equipment. The housing is cast iron, delivering the rigidity and vibration damping required in demanding mechanical environments. The bore measures 1-11/16 inches with a straight bore profile, and the unit locks to the shaft via set screw. With a maximum rated speed of 2,500 RPM, it suits a wide range of moderate- to high-load rotational applications. Licensed industrial mechanics and millwrights are the typical installers.
This pillow block is suited for use in industrial machinery, conveyor systems, fan shafts, and general power transmission assemblies where a fixed (nonexpansion) bearing location is required. The two-bolt mounting pattern with a 6.5-inch bolt hole center-to-center spacing makes it compatible with standard mounting pads and fabricated steel bases. The 2-1/8-inch base-to-center height and 7-7/8-inch overall length fit standard pillow block envelope dimensions for the PBE920 series.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit unit within the BROWNING PBE920 series pillow block family. Fits standard 1-11/16-inch diameter straight shafts. Mounting hole center-to-center spacing ranges from 5.6875 inches minimum to 6.5 inches maximum.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed millwright or industrial mechanic. De-energize and lock out all connected drive equipment before mounting or removing the bearing unit per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Align the shaft carefully before tightening set screws to avoid inducing side load on the bearing insert. Verify mounting surface flatness and torque fasteners to the base plate using appropriate fastener specifications for the bolt grade used.
