The BROWNING 3694338 is a three-groove, Quick Detachable (QD) bushed V-belt sheave designed for industrial and commercial belt-drive systems. Manufactured from iron, this sheave features a 9.68-inch outside diameter and accepts bore sizes from 5/8 inch up to 2-1/4 inch through its B-style QD bushing. The three-groove configuration allows it to drive multiple belts simultaneously, increasing power transmission capacity and reducing load per belt. At 16 pounds, it is built for sustained duty in mechanical power transmission applications including HVAC blower drives, pump drives, and industrial fan systems. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the typical installers.
This sheave is suited for residential and commercial mechanical systems where 5V, A, or B cross-section V-belts are used. Its 9.5-inch belt pitch diameter for 5V belts, 9.0-inch pitch diameter for A-section belts, and 9.4-inch pitch diameter for B-section belts make it versatile across common belt standards. Typical installations include rooftop unit blower drives, air handler fan assemblies, cooling tower fan drives, and centrifugal pump systems requiring multi-belt configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sheave for belt-drive systems using 5V, A, or B cross-section V-belts with a B-style QD bushing and bore requirements between 5/8 inch and 2-1/4 inch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before removing the existing sheave or bushing. The QD bushing must be properly torqued to manufacturer specifications using appropriate hand tools — do not over-tighten or use impact tools on the bushing screws. Verify belt tension and sheave alignment with a straightedge or laser alignment tool after installation to prevent premature belt and bearing wear.
