The BROWNING 1122316 is a minimum plain bore roller chain sprocket designed for use with ANSI 40 chain at a 1/2 inch pitch. Machined from steel, this sprocket features 17 teeth and a maximum bore diameter of 1-7/16 inches, with a minimum bore diameter of 5/8 inch, allowing the installer to bore or broach the hub to the required shaft size in the field. The outside diameter measures 2.96 inches. It is installed by mechanical drive technicians and millwrights in conveyor, power transmission, and general industrial drive applications where a custom bore fit is needed.
This sprocket is suited for light-to-medium duty roller chain drive systems using ANSI No. 40 chain. Typical installations include conveyor drives, packaging equipment, agricultural machinery, and general manufacturing equipment where a 1/2 inch pitch chain drive is specified. The minimum plain bore design gives fabricators and installers flexibility to finish the bore and add keyways or set-screw holes to match the driven shaft.
Designed for use with ANSI No. 40 roller chain at 1/2 inch pitch. Verify bore, keyway, and hub dimensions against shaft requirements before installation.
Installation is typically performed by millwrights or mechanical drive technicians. Before servicing or installing any sprocket, de-energize and lock out the drive system per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. The plain bore must be finish-machined or broached to the required shaft diameter and keyway prior to mounting. Ensure proper chain alignment and tension after installation to prevent premature wear on the sprocket teeth and chain.
