The BROWNING 1079011 is a Type Q split taper bushing designed for use with split taper sprockets and sheaves in mechanical power transmission systems. With a 1.875-inch bore and a 4.125-inch outside diameter, this iron bushing mates precisely with matching split taper hubs to provide a secure, concentric grip on shafts without requiring a press fit. The 1/2-inch keyway width and 1/4-inch keyway depth accommodate standard keyed shaft configurations. Maximum rated torque is 348 inch-pounds. Installation and removal are handled by a mechanic or millwright during drivetrain assembly or maintenance on conveyor, pump, and fan drive systems.
This bushing is suited for light to medium industrial applications where split taper sprockets or sheaves are mounted on keyed shafts. It is commonly found in conveyor drives, HVAC fan assemblies, pump drives, and general industrial machinery. The split taper design allows the bushing to be drawn into the mating hub bore using the 3/8 x 1-1/4 thread pattern, creating a self-locking taper fit that centers the sprocket or sheave on the shaft. It fits Series Q1 split taper hubs.
Designed for use with split taper sprockets and sheaves requiring a Type Q, Series Q1 bushing with a 1.875-inch bore.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright. De-energize all drive equipment and lock out the power source before beginning any bushing service work. Use the specified draw bolts threaded into the taper hub to seat the bushing evenly — do not hammer the bushing into place. Refer to the hub and sprocket manufacturer torque sequence and fastener specifications before final tightening.
