The BROWNING 1078393 is a Type H split taper sprocket bushing designed for secure, concentric shaft-to-hub connections in power transmission assemblies. With a 1.375-inch bore and a 3/8-inch keyway width by 3/16-inch keyway depth, it accepts a standard keyed shaft and locks in place using the split taper clamping principle. The outside diameter measures 2.5 inches and the bushing is rated to a maximum torque of 95 inch-pounds. Machined from iron, this bushing is a standard component installed by millwrights, maintenance technicians, and mechanical contractors working on belt drive and chain drive systems.
This bushing is used wherever split taper sheaves or sprockets are mounted to a keyed shaft in industrial and commercial power transmission applications. Typical installations include conveyor drives, HVAC fan assemblies, pump drives, and other rotating equipment requiring a reliable, removable shaft mount. The split taper design allows the bushing to be installed and removed without special pullers in most applications, making it well suited for equipment subject to regular maintenance cycles.
Designed for use with split taper sprockets and sheaves that accept the Type H bushing series.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician. De-energize and lock out the drive system before beginning work, following applicable LOTO procedures. Ensure the shaft and bushing bore are clean and free of burrs before seating the bushing. Do not exceed the rated torque specification when tightening the clamping screws, and refer to the equipment manufacturer's assembly instructions for proper fastener sequence.
