The BROWNING 1069343 is a Type P split taper sprocket bushing designed for secure, concentric mounting of split taper sprockets and sheaves onto drive shafts. Machined from iron, this Series P1 bushing features a 0.75 inch bore with a 3/16 inch keyway width and 3/32 inch keyway depth, accommodating standard keyed shafts. The outside diameter measures 3 inches, and the bushing is rated for a maximum torque of 192 inch-pounds. Licensed HVAC technicians, millwrights, and industrial mechanics install this type of bushing when mounting power transmission components to motor or drive shafts in fan, blower, and conveyor drive assemblies.
This bushing is suited for light-duty to medium-duty power transmission applications where split taper mounting hardware is specified. Common install scenarios include HVAC blower drives, fan assemblies, pump drives, and conveyor systems that use split taper sheaves or sprockets. The split taper design allows the bushing and sprocket or sheave to be drawn together with fasteners, creating a firm, concentric grip on the shaft without the need for press-fit installation. The 5/16 x 1 thread size is used for the mounting screws.
Designed for use with split taper sprockets and sheaves that accept a Type P Series P1 bushing bore.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright, industrial mechanic, or HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before installing or removing any bushing. Clean the bushing bore, shaft, and mating taper surfaces before assembly, and confirm keyway alignment before tightening mounting screws evenly in a cross-pattern sequence. Do not hammer the bushing onto the shaft, as this can damage the taper seat and affect concentricity.
