The BRON TAPES 103120 is a 7 mil PVC electrical insulating tape engineered for general-purpose wire insulation, harnessing, and bundling tasks. Sold under the BT-48 series designation, this tape measures 0.75 inches wide by approximately 59 feet long and is brown in color, making it useful for color-coding circuits and conductors in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring applications. The 7 mil thickness provides a durable, conformable wrap that resists moisture, abrasion, and voltage breakdown at standard low-voltage levels. Licensed electricians and maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This tape is suited for low-voltage wire insulation, conductor identification, cable bundling, and surface protection in electrical panels, junction boxes, and conduit runs. The brown color is commonly used by electricians to designate specific phase or circuit identities per job-site color-coding conventions. It performs reliably in both indoor and protected outdoor environments where a conformable, flexible PVC backing is needed.
Designed as a general-purpose PVC electrical insulating tape suitable for standard low-voltage wiring, bundling, and insulation tasks in residential and commercial electrical work.
De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying insulating tape to conductors or terminals. Apply with consistent tension and overlap each wrap by approximately half the tape width for full coverage. Follow NEC guidelines for insulation requirements on spliced or repaired conductors. Do not use as a substitute for listed wire nuts or approved splice connectors in high-voltage or high-temperature applications.
