The Broan-NuTone RDFUWT Radiation Damper prevents the rapid spread of fire to other areas of a home during a fire. This essential component is designed for exhaust fans installed in multi-family homes with fire-rated ceilings, where codes often require radiation dampers for fire safety. When the air temperature passing through the damper exceeds 165°F, its fusible link melts, triggering the thermal fabric to automatically close. This action interrupts airflow with a flame and heat barrier, effectively preventing fire spread.
