The BRK ELECTRONICS smco110v-ac is a hardwired combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm designed for residential installation by licensed electricians and fire-safety contractors. It operates on 120V AC power and includes a 10-year sealed lithium battery backup to maintain protection during power outages. Smoke detection uses photoelectric sensing technology, which is effective at detecting slow, smoldering fires. Carbon monoxide detection uses an electrochemical sensor for accurate, low-drift CO measurement. When an alarm triggers, a voice warning announces the type of hazard and its location, helping occupants respond correctly and quickly.
This alarm is suited for residential applications including single-family homes, multi-unit dwellings, and light commercial spaces where code requires both smoke and CO detection on a single device. The 120V AC hardwired design allows interconnection with other compatible alarms so that when one unit activates, all interconnected units sound. The silence feature allows temporary alarm suppression during nuisance events, and the latching feature keeps the alarm in alert status until the hazard condition is cleared and the alarm is manually reset.
Designed as an OEM-style hardwired combination smoke and CO alarm compatible with 120V AC interconnectable alarm systems in residential and light commercial installations.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC guidelines and local fire code requirements. Power down the circuit at the breaker panel before making any wiring connections. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram for line, neutral, and interconnect leads. Test the alarm after installation using the test button to confirm both smoke and CO detection circuits are functioning before closing up the junction box.
