The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 434-SLT is a 1-1/2 inch malleable iron liquid tight straight connector designed to create a secure, watertight connection between metallic liquid tight conduit and an electrical box or enclosure. Malleable iron construction provides superior impact and abrasion resistance compared to standard fittings, making this connector well suited for harsh industrial and commercial environments. An electroplated zinc finish adds long-term corrosion resistance. The fitting includes NPT threads, a knockout gasket, and an internal sealing ring to maintain a reliable liquid tight seal at the conduit-to-enclosure interface. Licensed electricians and journeymen install this fitting as part of a code-compliant conduit system in wet or hazardous locations.
This connector is rated for use in wet locations per NEC requirements and is suitable for Class I Division 2, Class II Divisions 1 and 2, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2 applications per NEC 501.30(B). It carries NEMA TYPE 2, 3, 3R, 4, and 12 ratings, making it appropriate for indoor and outdoor industrial enclosures, control panels, junction boxes, and similar installations where moisture and contaminant ingress must be prevented. This fitting is UL-Listed under File No. E9391. It is part of a product family available in trade sizes 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches.
Designed for use with metallic liquid tight conduit in 1-1/2 inch trade size, connecting to standard electrical box or enclosure knockouts. Part of a straight connector family available in trade sizes 1-1/4 inches through 6 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local electrical codes. Before beginning work, de-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel. Slide the compression nut and inner sealing ring over the conduit end before threading the ferrule into the conduit channel, then insert the conduit into the connector body, tighten the compression nut, and secure the fitting to the enclosure knockout using the provided locknut. Do not overtighten the compression nut in a way that damages the sealing ring, as this will compromise the liquid tight integrity of the connection.
