The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 324 is a 1-1/4 inch plastic conduit bushing designed to terminate and protect conductors where threaded rigid or IMC conduit enters an enclosure or box. Secured with a standard locknut, it provides a smooth, insulated edge that prevents conductor insulation from abrading against the cut conduit threads. The bushing is rated to 105 degrees C, making it suitable for higher-temperature installations where standard plastic fittings may be inadequate. Overall length is 0.5 inches, with an inner diameter of 1-5/16 inches and an outer diameter of 1-15/16 inches. Licensed electricians and journeymen install this fitting during rough-in and panel termination work.
This bushing is used in commercial and residential electrical installations wherever 1-1/4 inch threaded rigid metal conduit (RMC) or intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminates at a junction box, panel enclosure, or other electrical enclosure. It is a common component in branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, and equipment connections where NEC conductor protection requirements apply at conduit entry points. The simple locknut-secured design speeds installation in high-volume rough-in situations.
Designed for use with 1-1/4 inch threaded rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) at box or enclosure entry points secured by a standard locknut.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 300 and Article 358 or 344 as applicable. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before working inside any enclosure. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end before inserting through the knockout, then secure with a locknut tightened against the interior wall of the enclosure. Do not use this fitting on conduit systems requiring a grounding-type or metallic bushing where bonding continuity is mandated.
