The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 253-RT2 is a 1-1/4 inch raintight screw-on compression connector designed to join EMT conduit to an electrical box or enclosure with a watertight seal. Constructed from die cast zinc, it delivers a precise fit and strong corrosion resistance in demanding environments. The connector includes an internal sealing ring, a knockout gasket with a rubber insert and steel retaining ring, and NPT threads for a secure box connection. This fitting is UL Listed and rated for NEMA Type 2, 3, 3R, and 4 enclosures. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this connector in commercial and residential conduit runs where moisture protection is required.
The 253-RT2 is suited for wet and damp location installations where EMT conduit terminates at a junction box, panel enclosure, or outlet box. The raintight design makes it appropriate for outdoor panels, rooftop equipment connections, and exposed conduit runs subject to rain or washdown. At the 1-1/4 inch trade size, this connector is also listed for use with aluminum EMT, expanding its range of compatible conduit material. It is part of a connector series covering trade sizes 1/2 inch through 4 inches.
Compatible with 1-1/4 inch steel EMT and 1-1/4 inch aluminum EMT. Designed for connection to standard electrical boxes and enclosures using a knockout opening sized for 1-1/4 inch trade connectors. Part of the BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS raintight screw-on compression connector series, which covers trade sizes 1/2 inch through 4 inches.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before beginning work. Insert the EMT into the fitting body and tighten the compression ring to secure the conduit, then thread the connector through the box knockout and tighten the locknut to complete the connection. Do not overtighten the compression ring or locknut with impact tools, as this can crack the die cast body.
