The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 1176 is a zinc electroplated steel reducing bushing designed to reduce internal female thread size when joining two lengths of threaded rigid or IMC conduit. It transitions a 2.5-inch connection down to a 2-inch connection, making it a practical fitting for conduit runs that change trade size. The bushing measures 1.375 inches in overall length with a 1.9375-inch internal diameter. Its zinc electroplating provides resistance to rust and corrosion, supporting long service life in typical electrical raceway installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where rigid metal conduit (RMC) or intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems require a trade-size reduction. It is threaded on both ends to mate with standard NPT conduit threads and is appropriate for use in exposed or concealed conduit systems wherever a 2.5-inch to 2-inch transition is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 2.5-inch to 2-inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify power is off before working on any conduit system. Thread the bushing by hand first to confirm engagement, then tighten with an appropriate pipe wrench or conduit fitting tool. Do not over-tighten, as this may damage the threads on either the bushing or the mating conduit end.
