The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 1122 is a three-piece malleable iron conduit coupling designed to join two lengths of threaded rigid or IMC conduit. Zinc-electroplated for corrosion resistance, this concrete-tight coupling is built to handle environments where crushing, abrasion, and impact are ongoing concerns. The three-piece design allows the coupling to be installed without rotating either conduit run, making it practical for tight or fixed installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of a complete rigid metal conduit system where physical protection of conductors is the primary requirement.
This coupling is suited for use in industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty residential applications where rigid metal conduit or IMC is required by code. Concrete encasement and high-abuse locations such as equipment rooms, exposed runs in warehouses, and underground-to-surface transitions are common install scenarios. Its impact-resistant construction makes it appropriate for locations where conduit is subject to physical contact from machinery, foot traffic, or construction activity.
Designed for use with 3/4 inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC).
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before beginning work. Thread both conduit ends fully into the coupling body and tighten the locknuts securely to maintain the concrete-tight seal. Do not use this fitting on EMT or non-threaded conduit ends.
